I am a father of one, married to the best woman I have ever met, and I can thank kayak bass fishing for changing my life. It gave me a hobby, introduced me to some of my best friends, helped me lose 90 pounds, and has become second only to being a tournament director.
I am a big believer in fishing your way. FFS, dual motors, and all the other silly things people love to argue about do not matter to us. Bring your kayak, bring your “toys,” and come compete against extremely skilled anglers. The goal of The YAK Group and every chapter under it is really that simple.

Born and raised in Braselton, Georgia, Bobby Reese is a devoted husband, proud father of two, and excitedly preparing to welcome another child to the family. His faith, family, and passion for the outdoors are the driving forces behind everything he does.
As a Tournament Director of Georgia Yak, Bobby is committed to growing the sport of kayak bass fishing by creating professionally run tournaments that are competitive, fair, and welcoming to anglers of all experience levels. He believes the best events are built on sportsmanship, conservation, and a strong sense of community.
Whether he’s organizing tournaments, connecting with anglers, or spending time on the water, Bobby’s goal is simple: to bring people together through a shared passion for kayak fishing and leave the sport stronger than he found it.

Kevin serves as a Tournament Director for GeorgiaYAK, helping build a competitive, fair, and member-driven trail. A lifelong angler, he began kayak bass fishing in 2024 and quickly embraced both the sport and its community. He is also a proud member of the Festive Water Paddlesports Team.
Kevin enjoys targeting largemouth bass and exploring new fisheries, especially Georgia’s electric-only reservoirs, which offer quality fishing, quieter waters, and fewer wake boats and jet skis.
He believes GeorgiaYAK’s members should have a voice in tournament schedules, rules, and the organization’s future. As a Tournament Director, Kevin supports responsible innovation, including dual-motor kayak use, while prioritizing safety, fairness, and good sportsmanship.
Kevin plans to compete alongside the membership throughout the season, believing shared on-the-water experiences lead to better decisions. His goal is to help GeorgiaYAK grow while creating a fun, competitive, and welcoming environment for every angler.
The YAK Group’s Plan
Phase 1 — SCYAK
SCYAK was the proof of concept. It started with one goal: build a kayak fishing club that puts the anglers and the community first. Through SCYAK, we established the foundation for how The YAK Group should operate — organized events, fair competition, modern kayak fishing rules, and a culture that encourages anglers to fish their way. SCYAK proved that a club can be competitive without losing the community feel that makes kayak fishing special.
Phase 2 — Expansion (WE ARE HERE)
Phase 2 is where we are now. The YAK Group has officially formed with SCYAK and GeorgiaYAK as the first two chapters. The focus now is finding the right tournament directors and leaders to help grow the brand into three or four total chapters in 2027, then continue building toward seven active Southern states. This phase is not about rushing growth. It is about finding people who believe in the mission, care about their anglers, and want to help build something bigger than one local club.
Phase 3 — Southern Elite Trail
Once The YAK Group reaches seven active states, Phase 3 begins with the launch of The YAK Group Southern Elite Trail. This will be the premier multi-state trail connecting our chapters across the South and giving anglers a bigger stage to compete on. The goal is simple: seven states, one trail, one champion. The Southern Elite Trail will represent the best of what The YAK Group is building — strong local chapters feeding into a higher-level regional series built on community, competition, and constant improvement.
Phase 4 — Texas & Louisiana
After the first seven-state foundation is built, Phase 4 expands The YAK Group west with the addition of Texas and Louisiana. This step turns the vision from a strong Southeast network into a true Southern kayak fishing movement. By this point, the foundation will already be in place: local chapters, strong tournament directors, a proven multi-state trail, and a clear path for anglers who want to fish freely, compete hard, and be part of something bigger.
